Yayoi Kusama (1929-2026) is a major figure in contemporary art, whose unique world has profoundly influenced several generations. Among her most iconic creations are the Infinity Mirror Rooms, immersive installations where the viewer seems to enter a limitless universe, and Narcissus Garden, composed of hundreds of reflective spheres. In the work “Yayoi,” Deng Yu created a “rabbit-like” portrait of Yayoi Kusama: she wears a tunic dotted with the characteristic patterns of the Japanese artist’s universe and sports her famous red bob hairstyle. Today, this work underscores not only Deng Yu’s fascination with her elder’s work, but also her conviction that art can have a healing power.<\/p>\n
